Social distancing in the office?

No one really knows what will happen with COVID-19 yet; we can only take action in the very short term.

What can we do?

Ask your employee what they would prefer to do:

  • Stay in the Home Office?

  • Go back to the office?

  • Look for an intermediate solution?

Each person will have their own priorities and reasons for deciding what is best for them. The best way to run a productive team is for them to know that they are safe and their needs are met.

My recommendation during the crisis and subsequent de-escalation of COVID-19 is to keep the Home Office option full or part time as much as possible.

If this is not possible, then coordinate with your employees to work in small teams, minimising their presence in the office. In this way, the number of workers per m2, minimising risk and socially uncomfortable situations.

It also eliminates the risk of exposure to the virus in:

  • Public Transport

  • Building and office access spaces such as elevators and stairs

  • Open-plan offices without partitioning

  • Access and common spaces in the office

By momentarily reducing the flow of personnel, it will not be necessary to make modifications to the work area, fire evacuation, ventilation and air conditioning systems, etc

If you need to evaluate and modify Home Office workspaces, contact us for an initial consultation. Thank you very much.
